Lake Forest Celebrates 31st Annual Fourth of July Parade With Community Spirit

Lake Forest celebrated its 31st annual Fourth of July Parade with a vibrant display of community spirit, themed "Family, Fun, and Freedom." The event, held on July 4, 2025, featured approximately 85 entries, showcasing local organizations, dignitaries, and community members coming together to honor the holiday.

Recreation managers Laura Hunter and Vicki Bledthen welcomed attendees, emphasizing the parade's significance as a cherished tradition in Lake Forest. The festivities kicked off with a warm greeting from Garth, who highlighted the participation of local dignitaries, including Mayor Mark Tetimer, who expressed his pride in the event's community involvement. "It seems like half of the city is in the parade and the other half is here watching," he remarked, underscoring the parade's role in fostering community connections.

The parade featured a variety of participants, including the Orange County Sheriff's Department, which received applause for its commitment to public safety. The California Society Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard also made an appearance, representing the historical significance of the day and promoting patriotism among attendees.

Among the highlights was the participation of the Lake Forest Little League, which has been a staple of youth sports in the area for over 30 years, and the classic Thunderbirds, a nod to Americana and car culture. Councilman Doug Serbo joined the festivities, celebrating his long-standing marriage and the freedoms enjoyed in the United States.
