Lake Forest Celebrates Fourth of July With Community Parade and Local Organizations

The Lake Forest July 4th Parade showcased a vibrant celebration of community spirit and patriotism, marking a significant milestone for the Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church, which celebrated its 45th year serving the area. The parade featured the Freedom Tuners band performing "Only in America," setting a festive tone for the day.

Among the highlights was a special invitation to the community for the Camino De Santiago event on July 27, a 5 or 7-mile walk reflecting the historic pilgrimage to the cathedral in Spain. This event aims to foster community engagement and promote local culture.

Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner also made an appearance, extending his Independence Day wishes to Lake Forest residents. With over 20 years in public service, Wagner emphasized his commitment to enhancing public safety and quality of life in the community.

The parade was further enriched by the participation of AYSO Region 85, the largest soccer club in the world, which has been a staple in Lake Forest for over 50 years. With more than 1,500 children involved and a dedicated team of volunteers, AYSO continues to provide enriching soccer programs, supported by the city’s recreation staff.

Another notable participant was Science Heads, a nonprofit organization promoting STEM education. Their mobile observatory offered parade-goers a glimpse into the wonders of the universe, encouraging interest in science among local youth.

The event also featured Congressman Young Kim, who proudly represents California's 40th District, and the Lake Forest Girl Scouts, who promote leadership and empowerment among young women.

As the parade continued, the legendary Jeep Wrangler made a spirited appearance, celebrating its American heritage, while the Clubhouse Senior Center showcased its offerings for the community's older residents, promoting social engagement and wellness.
