The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is implementing a temporary traffic pattern along 5600 South in Weber County as part of the ongoing construction project that began in June 2023 and is expected to last through 2026. This temporary pattern, referred to as a "through you," will be in effect for three months while crews work on building the interchange at I-15.
Drivers should be aware that left turns will be restricted at the 1900 West and 5600 South intersection. To navigate this change, those traveling south should proceed to the temporary U-turn signal at 1900 West, make a U-turn, and then turn right to reach their destination. Similarly, northbound drivers should also use the U-turn signal at 1900 West before making a right turn.
Additionally, left turn restrictions will apply to the I-15 North and South exits. Northbound drivers exiting I-15 can either use the U-turn signal or continue straight to their destination. Southbound drivers should follow the same instructions, utilizing the U-turn signal or continuing straight.
This project aims to reduce congestion and enhance safety and mobility on I-15, 3500 West (State Road 108), and 5600 South (State Road 97) in the cities of Roy and Riverdale. As construction progresses, UDOT encourages drivers to remain alert and follow posted signs to ensure safe navigation through the area.
