Michigan Develops National Training Center for Advanced Logistics at Camp Grayling

In a recent meeting of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor and Economic Opportunity, Michigan lawmakers discussed significant initiatives aimed at enhancing military training capabilities and addressing affordable housing needs across the state. The meeting highlighted two primary proposals: the establishment of a national training center and funding for Habitat for Humanity's housing programs.

In addition to military initiatives, the committee also reviewed a proposal from Habitat for Humanity, which seeks $10 million to build or renovate homes for low-income families across 78 counties in Michigan. This funding will support various programs, including grants for local affiliates, a revolving loan fund for housing development, and down payment assistance for homebuyers. The organization emphasized its commitment to leveraging community resources and sweat equity to create sustainable housing solutions.
