Mayor Voigt announces return of Lake Forest BOGO gift card program for local businesses

Mayor Scott Voigt announced the return of the popular Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) gift card program during the latest Mayor's Minute, a decision approved by the city council that aims to support both residents and local businesses in Lake Forest. Originally launched in 2022 to aid recovery from the pandemic, the program allows residents to purchase gift cards valued at either $50 or $100 and receive an additional card of equal value for free. These gift cards can be used like credit cards at participating businesses throughout the city.

The BOGO program is set to go live in August, coinciding with the highly anticipated Taste of Lake Forest event on August 15 at Heritage Hill Historical Park. This year’s Taste will showcase 25 local restaurants and feature live music, with tickets expected to sell out quickly.

In addition to the BOGO announcement, Mayor Voigt highlighted an important community safety event scheduled for Saturday, July 19. Representatives from various organizations, including the Orange County Fire Authority and Southern California Edison, will be at Portola Hills Park from 9 AM to noon. They will provide information on wildfire safety and insurance preparedness, encouraging residents to ensure their homes are protected.
