This decision comes as part of a broader initiative to air condition all district buildings, with the high school set to be fully operational by September 2025, excluding the new gym and weight room.

During the public session on July 29, 2025, Mr. Allen, a key figure in the project, highlighted the substantial investment made in air conditioning across the district. He noted that the high school will be the next facility to benefit from this upgrade, ensuring that all instructional spaces are comfortable for students. The subsequent phases will include air conditioning installations at Slocum, Bridal Path, and other schools throughout the year.

The board discussed the opportunity to utilize remaining funds from the initial bond scope to expand the project.
