Mount Vernon High School Implements New Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

Mount Vernon Community School Corporation has unveiled a detailed car rider tutorial for secondary schools, aimed at streamlining student drop-off and pick-up procedures at Mount Vernon High School (MVHS). The new protocol, discussed during a recent meeting, is set to enhance safety and efficiency for students and parents alike.

The drop-off process will begin at 7:30 AM, with parents instructed to fill Zone 1, located on the east side of the designated lot, in three columns. This structured approach is designed to minimize congestion and ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Students will be released from their vehicles at 8:15 AM, utilizing sidewalks to access the school’s main entrance.

For those arriving after 8:15 AM, cars will be directed to Zone 2, where students can be released curbside. It is crucial for parents to adhere to the timing, as students must be in the building by 8:33 AM to avoid being marked tardy.

The afternoon pick-up procedures mirror the morning routine, with the pick-up line opening at 2:45 PM. Parents are reminded not to arrive early to prevent disruption to school operations. The same two-zone system will be in place, ensuring a consistent and organized experience for families.
