The meeting highlighted the importance of defensible space inspections, which begin on May 1. These inspections confirm that homeowners meet the minimum requirements set by fire codes, providing them with proof of compliance.

While passing the inspection offers homeowners peace of mind, its impact on insurance rates remains uncertain. Insurance companies have the discretion to interpret inspection results as they see fit, meaning that compliance does not guarantee lower premiums or other benefits.
