Garden City Commissioners Approve Imagine IT Service Agreement for Emergency IT Support

The Finney County Commission held a regular session on August 4, 2025, where key discussions centered around the approval of an emergency contract with Imagine IT, a local information technology service provider. The meeting addressed the urgent need for IT support following the unexpected resignation of the county's IT director on July 11.

Interim Administrator presented the situation, explaining that the county required immediate assistance to ensure continuity of network operations. Imagine IT was chosen due to their prior experience with the county's network, having conducted audits in 2019 and 2022. A meeting was convened with Imagine IT staff, county officials, and the human resources director to evaluate the necessary services. It was determined that Imagine IT could fulfill the county's needs effectively.

A contract was signed on July 15 on an emergent basis, adhering to the county's purchasing policies. The contract, which is set for one year, will be funded through the information technology budget. Representatives from Imagine IT, Andrew Loker and Jacob Bishop, were present to outline the services they will provide, which include comprehensive IT support, cybersecurity measures, and project management.

Loker emphasized that Imagine IT offers a full range of services, from help desk support to advanced cybersecurity strategies. He noted that there may be potential cost savings for the county compared to previous IT expenditures, alleviating concerns about the financial implications of the new contract.

The meeting concluded with an invitation for questions from the commissioners, who expressed appreciation for the introduction of Imagine IT and the potential benefits of their services. The session underscored the county's proactive approach to maintaining its IT infrastructure during a transitional period.
