Simi Valley Residents Demand Ban on Short Term Rentals Amid Disruptive Meeting

The Simi Valley City Council meeting on August 5, 2025, was marked by heated discussions surrounding short-term rentals (STRs) and a notable disruption from a member of the public.

During the meeting, tensions escalated when a woman shouted derogatory remarks as attendees left the chambers. Despite the presence of eight police officers, the individual was not removed immediately, prompting Mayor Cavanagh to clear the chambers of approximately 300 attendees to restore order.
