Charlotte City Council Welcomes New Economic Development Director Shahid Ron

The institute is requesting $1.28 million over two years to provide technical assistance and funding for small businesses and community development corporations in underserved areas.

While both proposals were recognized for their potential impact, concerns were raised regarding the depletion of ARPA funds without a competitive selection process. Committee members emphasized the need for thorough financial assessments and metrics to ensure that investments yield tangible benefits for the community.
