DIA Expands Community Engagement Through Art Programs and Transportation Initiatives

The Art Institute Authority meeting held on August 4, 2025, in Wayne County, Michigan, focused on community engagement initiatives and upcoming programs at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA). The meeting also addressed ongoing exhibitions, including the Wayne County High School art exhibition, which showcases student artwork at the Guardian Building throughout August.

In response to a question regarding potential modifications to community programs, it was noted that established initiatives like the Inside Out program continue to thrive, with plans to expand outreach. The mural program is also set to grow, with three new works planned for completion. The DIA aims to increase group visits, particularly for nonprofit and municipal organizations, by providing free transportation for groups of 25 or more.
