New Restaurants Open and Planned in Route 34 Retail Area This Fall

The Oswego Economic Development Commission convened on August 6, 2025, to discuss various developments and upcoming events in the community. The meeting began with a conversation about scheduling the next meeting, with members considering October as a potential date. Concerns were raised regarding the need for adequate preparation time to ensure community engagement, emphasizing the importance of notifying residents well in advance.

Following the scheduling discussion, the commission reviewed several ongoing and upcoming projects in the area. Notably, Nori Sushi has recently opened behind Starbucks, receiving positive feedback from attendees. Skechers is set to open its doors this Friday, while Candy Cloud is anticipated to launch next month.

The commission also highlighted the progress of Crumble, which is expected to open this fall after completing interior demolition. Additionally, a mystery grocery store is in the works, with plans to open by the end of the year, although the tenant's identity remains undisclosed. The store will feature an additional 10,000 square feet of retail space that is currently being leased.

In Orchard, Woody's Wings, a subsidiary of Big Onion Hospitality Group, is targeting a September opening. Following this, Scooter's Coffee is also expected to join the area. The commission discussed Taco Dolly, which aims to open within weeks, with a grand opening celebration planned for later in the month. Bay 54 is in the early stages of permitting, targeting a late fall or early winter opening.

The meeting concluded with updates on the Danelle's property, which has been sold. While there is interest in establishing an Italian restaurant at the location, no commitments have been finalized yet. The broker representing the buyer is now the leasing agent for the restaurant space, and the commission remains optimistic about attracting a suitable tenant.
