Jackson Public Schools Approves Security Services Contract with Austin Security Consulting

Jackson Public Schools has taken significant steps to enhance safety and risk management within the district, as highlighted in their recent board meeting on August 5, 2025. The board approved a key recommendation to award the insurance risk management consulting services contract to the Evans Agency. This partnership aims to provide strategies for minimizing risks and assisting with the procurement of necessary insurance products, ensuring the district is better protected against potential liabilities.

In another pivotal decision, the board rescinded a previous service agreement with Austin Security and Crime Prevention Consulting and awarded a new contract to the same firm for armed and unarmed security services. While the agreement does not extend to placing security officers at every active school campus, it allows for a more focused deployment of resources, enabling the district's police force to concentrate on active schools and offices.
