Rally Networks outlines Gilliam County fiber expansion plans and funding strategies

Currently, Rally Networks is focused on installing approximately 240 miles of fiber, with significant progress made in the southern part of the county. Cannon reported that about 90% of the network between Condon and Mayville is complete, and they anticipate starting customer connections in 2026. The company aims to provide fiber to every broadband serviceable location, ensuring that residents have access to high-speed internet.

During the meeting, residents raised questions about installation fees and the process for connecting homes to the new fiber network. Cannon assured attendees that the standard installation fee would be $50, with additional costs assessed only in unusual circumstances, such as long driveways. He encouraged residents to reach out to Rally Networks for assistance and to preregister for service updates.

Cannon outlined various outreach methods, including direct mail, social media, and local events, to keep residents informed about the progress and availability of broadband services.
