Anderson Park to Host Battle of the Border Soccer Tournament in Rush, Wisconsin

The City of Kenosha Parks Commission meeting on August 11, 2025, spotlighted the upcoming Battle of the Border Soccer Tournament, set to take place at Anderson Park from August 22 to August 24. The tournament, which has a rich history spanning over 20 years, is organized by Rush, Wisconsin Southeast, a travel soccer program affiliated with Castle, a local recreational program.

Umuilasco Midage, representing Rush, clarified that while the application initially listed Rush as the organizer, it should reflect the partnership with Castle. He confirmed that the tournament is expected to host around 121 teams this year, a slight decrease from the usual 150 due to competing events in Milwaukee. Despite the lower turnout, Midage expressed confidence in the tournament's success and highlighted the ongoing collaboration with Castle, ensuring all necessary permissions were in place.

The Parks Commission acknowledged the application details and confirmed that no amendments were needed, allowing the tournament to proceed smoothly. This event not only showcases local talent but also strengthens community ties through sports, making it a significant highlight on Kenosha's summer calendar.
