In a heartfelt moment during the Timnath Town Council meeting on August 12, 2025, the council recognized Town Clerk Melissa Peters Garcia for her remarkable achievement in earning the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation. This prestigious honor, awarded by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, signifies the highest level of professional accomplishment in the field.
Since joining the town in October 2008, Peters Garcia has worked diligently alongside various mayors, council members, and town managers, showcasing her expertise and commitment to the community. The MMC designation is not easily attained; it requires extensive education, professional development, and active community involvement. Currently, only 53 out of 397 municipal clerks in Colorado hold this distinguished status.
The council expressed deep gratitude for Peters Garcia's unwavering dedication to her role and the residents of Timnath, with one council member stating, "Congratulations on this outstanding achievement."
In addition to this recognition, the council briefly touched on the success of a recent movie night at Wild Wing Park, thanking those who contributed to the event, including the mayor pro tem and local police chief, despite some initial technical difficulties.
The meeting underscored the town's commitment to celebrating its dedicated public servants while fostering community engagement through events.
