City Council Reviews Sidewalk Cafe Layout to Improve Accessibility

The Manhattan Community Board 2 Outdoor Dining Working Group convened on August 12, 2025, to discuss critical issues surrounding outdoor dining regulations in the area. While one application claimed an 11-foot width for the café, it was clarified that the actual usable space was only three feet. This misrepresentation raised questions about the accuracy of applications and the need for stricter oversight.

The meeting concluded with a consensus on the necessity for clearer guidelines and potential adjustments to the application process for outdoor dining permits.
