Cape Coral Council Supports Proposal for Large Florida Flag at City Entryway

During the recent Committee of the Whole meeting on August 13, 2025, Cape Coral officials discussed an exciting proposal to install one of the largest flags in Florida at a major entryway into the city. This initiative aims to enhance the welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike, particularly as the city prepares for its 250th anniversary celebration.

Council members expressed strong support for the concept, highlighting its potential to complement the existing memorial and pedestrian walkway. It was clarified that the park where the flag would be placed is not within the CRA boundaries, which could affect funding and promotional opportunities for the project.
