Planning Board Considers Height Increase for Peacock Place Development in Boulder

The Boulder City Planning Board convened on August 14, 2025, to discuss significant amendments related to the Peacock Place development at 5691 South Boulder Road. The meeting focused on a proposed annexation agreement amendment that seeks to increase the allowable height for accessory dwelling units from 25 feet to 32 feet, as well as a site review amendment that would permit six market-rate units to rise up to 40 feet in height.

These comments were included in the meeting packet for consideration.

The proposed amendments require a site review amendment due to the height modification request, which is subject to specific criteria outlined in the city code. The planning board's recommendation will be forwarded to the city council, which is scheduled to make a final decision on the annexation agreement amendment on August 21.

The site in question spans approximately 5.3 acres and is situated near East Boulder Community Park.
