Cobb County Announces Events Including Town Hall and Free Summer Performances

Cobb County is buzzing with community events and initiatives as the Board of Commissioners meeting on August 12 highlighted several key activities aimed at enhancing local engagement and well-being.

One of the standout announcements was the upcoming town hall meeting scheduled for this Thursday at the Boy Scout Center, starting at 6:30 PM. This event, in partnership with the Power Spheric Corridor Alliance, invites residents from District 2 to participate and voice their concerns and ideas.

In addition to the town hall, the county is hosting a series of free summer performances at the Art Place Mountain View. This week, families can enjoy a performance of "Twisters" on August 14 and "The End of the Line" on August 16. These events promise to transform summer evenings into memorable experiences, with no RSVP required and seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The meeting also spotlighted a heartwarming initiative: the return of the $25 "Adopt a Friend" special at the local shelter, allowing residents to adopt pets at a reduced fee. Commissioners also celebrated the near completion of the Connect the Comet Project, which links the Silver Comet Trail to the Atlanta Belt Line, promoting health and wellness through new pathways for the community.
