County Commissioners Approve Agreements for Human Services and Opioid Settlement Funding

A significant resolution involved participation in an opioid settlement against the Purdue and Sackler families, which could potentially bring $205 million to Pennsylvania, with funds distributed based on local government participation.

Further resolutions included arrangements with Palmetto Posting for tax sale postings and agreements with various placement facilities for local juveniles facing criminal matters.

Following the solicitor's report, the commissioners addressed parking issues related to the upcoming construction of the Eighteenth Dam parking garage. They confirmed that communication would improve regarding parking regulations, particularly for residential permit areas near the courthouse. Employees were advised to arrive early due to anticipated parking challenges.

Commissioner updates included participation in a community event organized by Shell and other local organizations, where 1,100 children received winter coats, shoes, and dental services.
