Cedar Park Council Approves New Sculpture Garden Selections for 2025-2026

During the Cedar Park City Council meeting on August 14, 2025, significant discussions centered around the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden, which has been a community fixture since its establishment in 2013. The council unanimously approved the recommendation to display four sculptures, with one alternate. The selected pieces include "Let Your Ideas Fly" by Andre Leibler Purvis, "Entropy of a Tree" by Anthony May, "End Balance" by Warren Kuller, and "Fierce School" by Mike Bennett. The alternate sculpture, "Sentinel" by Nell Mercado, will be included should any of the primary selections become unavailable. The new display is set to debut at the "Taste of Cedar Park" event in October, where prizes will be awarded to the artists, continuing a tradition from the previous year.

In addition to the sculpture discussions, the council also highlighted a forthcoming "Walk for Peace" event scheduled for November 2, organized by the Williamson County Service Club. This event aims to foster community spirit and engagement.

The meeting also touched on recent community events, including a chamber luncheon that featured a presentation on local engineering achievements, and discussions surrounding a recent bus accident involving students from Bagdad Elementary. Fortunately, all involved were released from the hospital, and the council expressed gratitude for the swift response from first responders.
