Planning Commission Approves Waivers and Site Plan for Community Health Center in Lima

The final waiver request involved design standards, where the applicant sought to bypass the requirement for revised building elevations to be submitted for final approval. The commission also voted unanimously to disapprove this waiver, reinforcing the need for compliance with design standards.

Following the waiver discussions, the commission considered whether to send the modified application to the city council or defer it for further design revisions. The applicant opted to move forward, and the commission approved the application, which will now be presented to the city council on September 17.

Additionally, the commission reviewed a major site plan for a community health center at 815 Navarre Avenue. The proposal received staff support for its alignment with zoning regulations, safe pedestrian and vehicle movement, and overall consistency with community needs. The applicant confirmed readiness to meet all recommended conditions, leading to a unanimous approval of the site plan.
