Kyoto House Design Alters Driveway and Excavation in Bluebird Canyon Neighborhood

The Design Review Board meeting held on August 15, 2025, in Laguna Beach focused on the proposed changes to the Kyoto House project, which aims to blend harmoniously with the natural landscape of Bluebird Canyon. Despite these modifications, several residents expressed ongoing concerns during the public comment period. Issues raised included the visibility of the structure from neighboring homes, potential noise from outdoor features like a reflecting pool, and the overall compatibility of the design with the existing neighborhood. Residents emphasized the importance of maintaining privacy and the aesthetic integrity of the area, arguing that the proposed changes still do not adequately address these concerns.
