Madison Robinson presents juvenile services plan to Colorado Youth Detention Continuum committee

During the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Workshop on August 18, 2025, key discussions centered around juvenile services and the oversight of the Colorado Youth Detention Continuum (CYDC). Madison Robinson, the CYDC coordinator and case manager for the 22nd Judicial District, presented an overview of the juvenile services planning committee, which plays a crucial role in managing programs for youth involved in the juvenile justice system.

Robinson explained that the committee is responsible for overseeing the CYDC program, which supports youth during their detention and community supervision phases. She emphasized the importance of the committee's work in developing an annual juvenile services plan, which is submitted to the state to report on the services provided to these young individuals.

A significant point of discussion was the proposed membership list for the committee, which requires approval from the Board of Commissioners. Robinson noted that Dolores County had already approved their side of the membership earlier that day. If the Montezuma County board approves the list, it will be forwarded to Chief Judge Plou for an administrative order, allowing the appointed members to serve for two years.

Robinson expressed confidence in the proposed members, highlighting the importance of including representatives from the Department of Social Services and the sheriff's office. She indicated that the list was standard and did not raise any concerns for her.
