City Implements New Equipment to Enhance Ball Field and Park Maintenance

Highlands Parks and Recreation is set to enhance its maintenance efficiency with the introduction of advanced equipment, significantly reducing labor demands and improving service delivery. During the recent advisory board meeting, officials highlighted the acquisition of a new ball field groomer, which has streamlined maintenance tasks that previously required two people. This innovation has cut maintenance time for baseball and softball fields by over half, showcasing the effectiveness of new technology in park management.

Additionally, the board discussed the implementation of a robotic painter for soccer fields at DoubleTree. This equipment allows one individual to set up the painting process and attend to other tasks while the robot completes the job, drastically reducing the manpower needed from two to three people.

The advancements don’t stop there; a robotic mower is also being introduced for the dog park. Scheduled to operate at night, this mower will maintain the park's grass while freeing up staff for other responsibilities. The robotic mower is expected to be operational within the next few weeks, further enhancing the efficiency of park maintenance.
