City Manager Goodlander updates on personnel changes and water projects progress

Fulshear City Council held a significant meeting on August 18, 2025, where key updates and developments were shared, particularly regarding the city's water infrastructure and personnel changes.

City Manager Mr. Goodlander reported on the completion status of the Pecano water plant and the elevated storage tank, both crucial for enhancing the city's water supply system. The elevated storage tank is now 98% complete, with a total expenditure of approximately $4.2 million out of a $4.285 million budget. This tank has been operational, providing water during peak usage times, although it currently relies on a temporary booster pump for filling.

The water plant project, which includes a pump station and ground storage tank, is also progressing well, with 91% of the project completed in terms of days and 86% based on financials. The total budget for this project is $14.4 million, with $12.4 million already invoiced. Recent water quality tests have passed, indicating readiness for utilizing the new water supply.

In addition to infrastructure updates, the council welcomed new personnel, including two new police officers and a customer service representative, while also acknowledging the departures of several staff members. These changes reflect ongoing efforts to enhance city services and community safety.

The meeting concluded with the opening of a public hearing regarding a proposed tax increase, signaling the council's commitment to transparency and community engagement in financial matters.
