Indian River County Receives Funding for Artificial Reef Project with CCA Florida

Indian River County is set to enhance its marine ecosystem with a significant funding boost for an artificial reef project. During a recent Board of County Commissioners meeting, Natural Resources Director Kylie announced that the county will receive funds to repurpose approximately 3,500 tons of debris from the old State Road A1A bridge. This material will be strategically placed at one of the county's permitted artificial reef locations, creating vital habitat for marine life.

The initiative is a collaborative effort involving the county, the Florida Department of Transportation (DOT), and the Coastal Conservation Association of Florida. Representative Brackett played a key role in facilitating this partnership, ensuring that the project moved forward effectively.
