Little Elm City Council Approves Major Improvements for Little Elm Park Projects

The Little Elm Town Council meeting on August 19, 2025, focused on significant improvements planned for Little Elm Park, including upgrades to camping facilities and the amphitheater. The discussions highlighted the completion of various capital projects, with the camping improvements being the last on the priority list from the 2021 capital priorities retreat.

Town officials reported that the camping project has expanded in scope to include 17 new campsites equipped with water and electric utilities, a boardwalk connecting the camping area to the amphitheater, and a group pavilion with restroom and shower facilities. The amphitheater will undergo renovations to improve seating and drainage, as well as upgrades to audio-visual capabilities to enhance event experiences.

The total budget for these improvements is proposed at $6 million, which includes funding from the Capital Reserve and the Community Development Corporation (CDC). The council emphasized the importance of securing funding soon to ensure the project is completed before major events like Ironman and spring break.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the need for better trash management solutions in the park. Plans include installing compactors to reduce litter and improve sanitation, which will also ease the burden on staff responsible for waste management.

Council members expressed their support for the project, noting its significance to the community and the need for timely action to enhance the park's facilities.
