Saratoga Springs Residents Propose Speed Limit Reduction and Emotional Safety Measures

The meeting began with a passionate address from Christine Greco, a resident of Monroe Street. Samuels pointed out that several nearby cities have already adopted similar measures, which not only enhance safety but also encourage local business patronage by making the area more pedestrian-friendly. He also raised concerns about the high speed limit on South Broadway and Route 9, advocating for traffic calming measures to prevent potential accidents, especially given the proximity of establishments that serve alcohol.
