Kachemak City Council Requests Alaska DOT Review Speed Limit on East End Road

She pointed out that over 1,000 vehicles travel daily through this area, which is home to more than 35 businesses within a mile and a half stretch. The committee discussed the safety concerns associated with the current speed limit, citing a history of accidents in the vicinity.

The resolution received support from the city of Homer, which also advocates for the speed limit reduction to enhance safety and consistency across municipalities on the peninsula.
