Ramsey County Board Approves $238K for Road Repairs and Equipment Upgrades

The Ramsey County Commission convened on August 19, 2025, to address several key infrastructure and administrative matters. The meeting began with a motion to accept a quote of $49,823 for patchwork repairs in front of a local shop, which was unanimously approved.

A significant topic of discussion was the need for gravel for the Devil's Lake stockpile. A motion was made to purchase 1,300 yards of gravel from Close Construction at $15 per yard, totaling $19,500. This motion was approved, emphasizing the urgency of the purchase due to dwindling supplies.

In addition, the commission approved the purchase of a new 600-gallon road oil machine for $58,345, which will enhance safety and efficiency in road maintenance. Johnson Excavating was also approved for payment of $11,000 for completed culvert replacement work.

The meeting concluded with discussions about a lease agreement with the abstract office. The commission decided to maintain the original October 1 deadline for the lease, despite requests for an extension to November 1. A motion was made to authorize the chairman and auditor to sign the lease agreement, which was passed.
