Hallandale Beach awards $7M water main improvement contract to Mancon Incorporated

A significant infrastructure project is set to transform Hallandale Beach, as the City Commission awarded a $7 million contract for water main improvements during the August 20 meeting. The contract, granted to Mancon Incorporated, aims to enhance the water main system along Parkview Drive and Leslie Drive, with a total project cost not exceeding $7.8 million.

Vice Mayor Nasrall initiated the discussion, emphasizing the importance of the project and the need for community awareness. He invited representatives from Mancon to introduce themselves, highlighting the unusual nature of their presence at such a meeting. Anthony Mancini, a representative from the company, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work in Hallandale Beach after several years.

City Engineer Mark Gambrell provided insights into the timeline and scope of the project, indicating that construction is expected to begin in January 2026 and will overlap with ongoing work on Atlantic Shores, which is projected to conclude in April 2026. This means residents can anticipate simultaneous construction activities in the area for several months, raising concerns about potential inconveniences.

Commissioners voiced their commitment to keeping the community informed about the developments, acknowledging that the extensive infrastructure work will significantly impact the 3 Islands neighborhood.
