Jacksonville Council Approves $13M Budget for Cecil Field Community Investments

This surge has raised questions about the sufficiency of the program's budget, prompting discussions about potential increases in funding from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) budget to meet the growing needs.

The DIA's budget was also reviewed, revealing a decrease in overall funding but an increase in salaries due to new hires and salary adjustments. The committee discussed the need for a dedicated attorney for the DIA, with an estimated cost of $187,000, which will be considered in future meetings.
