Boerne City Council Approves Ammon Road Storage Tank Contract with Pesato Construction

The Boerne City Council made significant strides in infrastructure development during its recent meeting on June 24, 2025, approving a key project that promises to enhance the city's water storage capabilities. The council unanimously voted to award the contract for the construction of the Ammon Road ground storage tank and pump station to Pesato Construction, with no additional debt required for funding. This decision marks a crucial step in ensuring the city’s water supply meets future demands.

Councilman Scott initiated the motion, which received a second from Councilman Williston, and the vote passed with a 5-0 majority. This project is expected to bolster the city’s infrastructure and support ongoing growth in the area.

In addition to the water project, City Manager Ben provided updates on several other initiatives. Notably, the council is currently studying the Old San Antonio Road and School Street corridors to assess potential future improvements. This study aims to prepare for any necessary street widening or enhancements as part of the city’s Capital Improvement Plan.

The meeting also highlighted progress on public charging stations for electric vehicles, with installation anticipated by the end of summer, following delays in receiving necessary equipment. Furthermore, the Parks Department has successfully added a third columbarium at local cemeteries, expanding options for memorial niches.

City Manager Ben expressed gratitude for the community's engagement during recent events, including the successful DOS Fest, which saw high participation and positive feedback. As the city approaches the end of the fiscal year, many projects are nearing completion, signaling a productive period for Boerne's development efforts.
