Somerset Academy of Carson City application approved with conditions for successful opening

1. By November 1, 2025, the academy must submit an updated financial plan detailing its budget for the incubation year, including confirmed revenue sources and a narrative explanation of how these sources align with anticipated costs.

2. The academy must provide evidence of a formal contract signed between its governing board and Somerset Inc., which should include a 1% affiliation fee and a list of agreed-upon services by the same November deadline.

3. By January 1, 2026, the school must hire a school leader.

4. A fully executed lease for a facility that meets the school's needs must be submitted by June 1, 2026, covering specific ZIP codes in Carson City.

5. By June 8, 2026, the academy must present a board-approved final budget that reflects revenue based on the fully enrolled student count and accurately incorporates facility expenses.

6. Following the new school enrollment audit in June 2026, the academy must demonstrate that it has at least 130 students enrolled for the upcoming school year.

7. Lastly, the academy must complete all SPCSA preopening processes, including meeting document submission deadlines, participating in required trainings, and attending monthly meetings.

The board emphasized that all conditions must be met for the school to open as planned. This approval marks a significant step for the Somerset Academy of Carson City, as it prepares to establish itself within the community and contribute to the educational landscape in Nevada.
