Lake Havasu Residents Address City Council on Pedestrian Safety and Code Enforcement Issues

During the recent Lake Havasu City Council meeting, residents raised important concerns regarding public safety and code enforcement that could significantly impact the community.

One resident highlighted the lack of pedestrian safety measures near Wheeler Park, where peaceful demonstrations have been taking place. She pointed out the absence of pedestrian crossing signs and crosswalks, making it dangerous for individuals trying to access the park. She urged the council to consider installing warning signs to enhance safety for those crossing the street to enjoy the park's amenities.

Another resident, Maureen DeJulio, addressed the council regarding a code enforcement issue affecting her property. DeJulio, a long-time resident, expressed frustration over a recent letter she received that prohibited her from placing her camping trailers on a vacant lot she owns across the street from her home. She explained that while other residents with adjacent lots can store their trailers, her situation is different due to the distance between her properties. DeJulio called for a review of the code enforcement policies to ensure fair treatment for all property owners, regardless of their lot's location.
