FitWise Fitness Center Celebrates Community Health Award in Decatur

The Decatur City Council meeting on August 25, 2025, featured a heartfelt presentation from representatives of FitWise Fitness and Wellness Center, who expressed gratitude for the city’s support and recognition of their contributions to community health.

During the meeting, a spokesperson for FitWise highlighted the center's commitment to promoting health and wellness in Wise County. They emphasized that the award received reflects not only the dedication of their staff but also the active participation of their members. FitWise currently employs 14 full-time and 16 part-time staff, alongside 37 contracted trainers, showcasing its role as a vital community resource.

The center caters to a wide demographic, offering programs for individuals from as young as two months to seniors, reinforcing its mission to foster a healthier community. The spokesperson articulated that fitness extends beyond physical activity; it is about building connections and supporting one another in the journey toward better health.

To further engage the council and attendees, FitWise representatives led a brief exercise demonstration aimed at promoting wellness among city officials.
