Commissioner Hale discusses staffing needs at Collin County Detention Center

Collin County officials are taking significant steps to address staffing shortages at the sheriff's office, with a focus on hiring additional detention officers. The sheriff's office has seen a substantial increase in staffing needs, with over 100 positions added in the last two years. While the sheriff initially requested 82 new positions, the county approved 60 for this year, a decision that was met with gratitude from officials who emphasized the critical need for these roles in detention facilities. "I'm thankful that we were able to get those people," one official stated, underscoring the importance of filling these positions to maintain operational efficiency.
