City Council Introduces Ordinance 202507 at Special Meeting

The Richmond City Council held a special meeting on August 25, 2025, primarily focused on the introduction of legislation. All council members were present, except for Council Member Lynch. The meeting commenced with procedural acknowledgments, including a reminder for able individuals to assist visually and hearing-impaired visitors in exiting the Public Safety Building.

The main agenda item was the introduction of Ordinance Number 2025-057. This ordinance will be reviewed during the Organizational Development Committee meeting scheduled for September 2 at 4 PM, before being brought back to the council for a decision on September 8. The council clerk was instructed to read the ordinance, and members were informed that a copy of the legislation would be available in the council chamber and on the city’s website by the end of the day.

Additionally, it was noted that questions submitted to the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Odie Donald, had been addressed and members were encouraged to review his responses prior to the upcoming committee meeting.
