Commissioners Approve Funding for Martha's House Repairs in Hancock Maryland

Jerry Sessard from the Interfaith Housing Coalition expressed gratitude for the commissioners' support, noting that the project has encountered unexpected costs, potentially raising the total repair expenses to around $44,000. He emphasized the importance of the shelter, stating, "We cater to the poorest of the poor," and underscored the facility's preparedness with solar panels and a generator to maintain operations during emergencies.

The commissioners unanimously approved the funding request, with discussions indicating a willingness to consider additional support to cover the rising costs.
