Wiley Council Approves Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026

The Wylie City Council made significant strides in budget planning during its recent meeting, approving a comprehensive budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026. The council unanimously voted 5-0 to adopt the budget, which includes allocations for the Wylie Economic Development Corporation and the Parks and Recreation Facilities Development Corporation.

City Manager Miss Brown presented the proposed tax rate of $0.543438 per $100 assessed valuation, which encompasses all operating, debt service, and capital funds. This budget reflects the city’s commitment to transparency, having met all local government code requirements for public hearings and notifications.

Mayor K. emphasized the extensive discussions that have taken place since January regarding the budget, highlighting the importance of community input. The public hearing was opened to allow residents to voice their opinions, with the council encouraging participation.
