Islander Club Rush Event Highlights Over 73 Opportunities for Student Involvement

The Coronado High School community is buzzing with excitement as the school year kicks off with a series of engaging events aimed at fostering student involvement and connection. This week, students are encouraged to participate in Club Rush, taking place tomorrow and Friday, where over 73 clubs will be showcasing their offerings. This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for students to explore interests and make new friends.

In addition to Club Rush, Back to School Night is scheduled for tomorrow from 5 to 7 PM. Parents are invited to attend a welcome presentation in the theater, followed by classroom visits starting at 5:30 PM. Students are reminded to share their class schedules with their parents to ensure a smooth experience navigating the school.

The school is also implementing a special schedule this Friday to accommodate a CHS policy and expectations assembly. Classes will begin at 8:30 AM, with a modified schedule to allow for this important event.

Counselors Miss Sereno and Miss Molina welcomed students back, emphasizing their availability for support and guidance. They highlighted several upcoming opportunities, including an internship interest meeting featuring local partners such as Safe Harbor and the Coronado Historical Association. Applications for these internships are due this Saturday, making attendance crucial for interested students.

Additionally, college visits will commence next week, with representatives from various universities available during lunch from Tuesday to Friday. Notable institutions like the University of Redlands and San Diego State will be visiting, providing students with insights into their future educational paths.

Seniors have specific events to look forward to, including a counseling assembly on September 11 and individual counseling meetings starting September 15. College Night on October 1 will also feature representatives from several universities, offering breakout workshops for all grade levels.
