Library and Culture Arts Department reports over $47,000 in six-month donations

The City of Carlsbad's Library Board of Trustees meeting highlighted a significant boost in community support through donations, with over $47,000 received in the first half of 2025. Management Analyst Debbie Jo McCool presented the semi-annual donation report, detailing the impact of these contributions on library services and cultural arts programs.

McCool emphasized the importance of these donations, which come from various sources, including cash, checks, and online payments. She noted that donors can specify how their contributions are used, with many choosing to fund specific programs or commemorate special occasions. During the reporting period, the library received $1,527 in non-specified donations and over $46,000 earmarked for particular uses.

The report showcased the generosity of 18 contributors, underscoring the community's commitment to enhancing library offerings. McCool concluded her presentation by inviting questions, reinforcing the library's mission to provide high-quality resources and services that enrich the lives of community members.
