Community Engagement Drives Range River Watershed Planning in Austin

The Austin Climate, Water, Environment, and Parks Committee convened on August 27, 2025, to discuss ongoing community engagement efforts related to watershed planning and environmental initiatives. The meeting highlighted the importance of inclusive outreach to historically underserved communities and the strategies employed to gather input from diverse stakeholder groups.

The committee began by reviewing the extensive engagement process that included a community vision survey, which received over 2,000 responses. This survey was promoted through various channels, including social media, yard signs, and direct mail to high flood risk areas.
