Board Approves Conditional Use Permit for Cedars Paradise Crossing Development

During a recent meeting on August 29, 2025, the Gallatin City Council approved two significant measures aimed at enhancing local housing options.

The first decision involved granting a variance of 11.61 feet for a property owner seeking to expand their home. The council unanimously supported the motion, citing the homeowner's hardship due to physical conditions and the non-conforming nature of the lot, which is smaller than the standard entitlement. The council emphasized that the expansion posed no harm to public welfare or neighboring properties, aligning with the conditions set forth by city staff.

In a second notable action, the council approved a Conditional Use Permit for the construction of two single-family dwelling units behind an existing residence at 707 West Eastland Street. This development, proposed by Greenlit Design LLC, will create a multifamily site on a 0.59-acre lot within the R-10 Medium Density Residential district. The planning department recommended approval, confirming that the project meets all zoning requirements and will not adversely affect public health and safety.
