Tower Engineering Professionals Seek Approval for Verizon Antenna Installation in Brentwood

The Brentwood Planning Commission convened on September 2, 2025, to discuss a significant upgrade to local wireless infrastructure that promises to enhance cell coverage for residents. The meeting focused on a proposal from Tower Engineering Professionals to remove outdated Sprint equipment from a monopole at 1598 Ragsdale Road and replace it with new Verizon antennas.

The current setup includes one mount and two antennas from Sprint, which is now integrated with T-Mobile, leaving the equipment largely unused. The proposed upgrade will introduce one mount and twelve new antennas from Verizon, along with additional equipment such as a generator and utility cabinets. Importantly, the height of the tower and the lease area will remain unchanged, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding area.

Abby Porter from Tower Engineering emphasized that the new Verizon installation is expected to improve coverage significantly. The project is anticipated to begin shortly after receiving final approval, with completion projected within a month, depending on crew availability and supply timelines.

Commissioner Petrucci raised concerns about potential impacts on T-Mobile service, to which Porter assured that there would be no negative effects, as T-Mobile is already utilizing the tower. The discussion also touched on broader efforts to enhance cell coverage throughout Brentwood, although no specific projects were identified at the meeting.

The commission unanimously recommended approval of the proposal, highlighting its potential benefits for local residents in terms of improved connectivity and service reliability. As the community continues to grow, such infrastructure upgrades are crucial in meeting the increasing demand for reliable wireless communication.
