Nassau County's Planning and Zoning Board has taken a significant step towards addressing the county's housing needs by approving a proposal to convert approximately 4.12 acres of land from commercial use to high-density residential (HDR). The application, submitted by Yulee Villas LTD, represented by Flynn Management Corporation, aims to enhance residential development in an area with existing public infrastructure and services.
The targeted parcels are located south of State Road 200, along the east side of US Highway 17. The board noted that the site is strategically positioned near essential public facilities, including three schools, a post office, a planned fire station, and recreational fields, all within a two-and-a-half-mile radius.
