Middletown Unveils Renaissance Point Event Center Development Plans

The Warren County government meeting on September 2, 2025, provided an update on the Event Center at Renaissance Point project in Middletown. This initiative is part of a larger development effort by the city, aimed at revitalizing the area and enhancing local amenities.

The project involves several key partners, including the City of Middletown, the Warren County Port Authority, Miller Valentine Construction, and Woodard Development. The site, approximately 50 acres in size, is strategically located at the southeast corner of Union and State Route 122, near the Atrium Medical Center and Interstate 75.

During the meeting, officials shared historical context regarding the project. A concept plan from 2021, developed through a visioning process with the firm Rinka, suggested the potential for an event center focused on indoor winter sports, such as hockey. This idea emerged from a recognized need for such facilities in the region, which currently lacks adequate options for winter sports.

Despite initial plans to incorporate these features into the Town Mall site, negotiations with the mall's owner did not result in an agreement. However, the current project aims to fulfill the community's desire for recreational facilities and mixed-use developments, contributing to the area's growth and appeal.

As the project progresses, further updates are expected, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between local government and development partners to bring this vision to fruition.
